Shell with a pearl on the sea sand.

“Sand irritates the oyster and the oyster responds by becoming a beautiful pearl. Allow difficulties to serve your transformation in the blossoming that you are”

—Robert Beno

My life story has been nothing but adventurous, characterized by highs and lows, valleys and mountains.
At one point in my life, I questioned God and I was like “God, whatever I’m going through right now, this is way too much. I really don’t understand what you are working on in my life right now”
I thank God though that through it all, I have come out stronger and I know now more than ever, that God has a purpose for all that I go through.

Consider this verse “There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.  (1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT).

I believe that God has turned my situations into a beautiful story. This is the very reason this blog was birthed. God put a burden in my heart to encourage those who may be low and may question their very purpose. I am here to reaffirm that YES! God has a purpose for your life whether you believe it or not.

Remember Romans 8:28? It affirms “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose”

Think for a minute, how would life be without challenges and obstacles? Boring, uneventful, purposeless right?

Why Pearls Arena?

Some time ago, I could not understand why pearls were so precious until I came across articles like this one here-> why pearls are so precious

Can you imagine that when sand irritates the oyster, the oyster responds by becoming a beautiful pearl? Pearls are unique for the following reasons:

  1. They are the only gem material formed and found within a living creature 🤓
  2. They require no cutting or polishing before use and are simply stunning the way they naturally form😊
  3. They are rare; only one in several million shellfish yields a pearl 🤗

How amazing is that! It struck me then that life could be compared to pearls. We come across so much irritation (loss of a loved one or job, illness, heartbreaks, pain caused by different situations…) but how do we react?

Do we adapt to these invasions? Do we pretend they are not happening? Do we overreact? Do we give up?… The ball is in your court, but for me:

  • I chose to be like a pearl
  • I chose to learn from life’s irritation
  • I chose to follow through what God’s purpose is for my life.

My everyday prayer is that may God propel me towards his purpose through the various situations I go through.
I pray that you will never give up, and you’ll always remember that God has a good plan for you, every day, every time.

I believe that you too are a pearl, and together, we become a community of pearls, thus the PEARLS ARENA.

Before I sign out…

The word pearl in Latin literally means unique. You are unique in your own way, whatever you’ve gone through in your life is unique, and moreover, your purpose for this world is unique.

Let’s remember that despite all that we go through, God wants the very best for our lives as Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

May God help me to walk with you through this life journey, as I share insights & analogies through my everyday life situations.

So help me God!
